A Saint Cloud porcelain silver-mounted snuff box,
c.1748, the cover painted in the Chinese manner with a single figure holding a tall parasol before an ornamental zigzag fence and large flowering branches, the shaped sides with flower sprays, landscape vignettes and a kneeling Chinese figure, the base with a standing figure holding a fan beside a pagoda landscape, with similar decoration to the interior lid and scattered flying insects to the interior base, the silver mounts with discharge marks for Antoine Leschaudel, Paris 1744-50, and Paris year letter 'H' for 1748-49, 8.2cm across.
