By Omar Ramsden & Alwyn Carr: a modern vase shaped cup and cover mounted on hexagonal wooden base with wire borders the body tapering decorated below the rim with a repeating, ribbon-like repousse frieze each one with the name of a sign of the zodiac "CAPRICORN", "AQUARIUS", "PISCES", "ARIES", "TAURUS", "GEMINI", "CANCER", "LEO", "VIRGO", "LIBRA", "SCORPIO" & "SAGITTARIOUS", the body with a pattern of drop-shaped scales, inscribed on the foot "D.R from G.F.R. 1913", the cover with openwork forms rising to the cast figures of a dancing girl, the cover unmarked, (perhaps due to the pierced work taking place after assay) London 1910 - the base incised "OMAR RAMSDEN ET ALWYN CARR ME FECERUNT", 16.4in (41.5cm) high overall (including base), 16oz.
