A matching set of four or two pairs of George II cast candlesticks, on shaped circular bases with knopped rocaille columns displaying asymmetry and detachable nozzles, the whole decorated with quilting swirling and fluting, and engraved with a lozenge shaped coat of arms on each base; one pair by Elija Godfrey, London 1752, the other pair (with the following scratchweights "24-18" and "25-8" and initials "CF" underneath), by William Solomon, London 1751, 10in (25.5cm) high, approximately, 100 oz.
