A 17th century continental parcel-gilt silver pomander
A 17th century continental parcel-gilt silver pomander,
circa 1640,
with a foliate engraved finial and ring terminal, with a six section segmented globular body engraved with birds and flowers, the finial unscrews allowing the six segments to fall open to reveal plain sliding covers
on a spread circular foot which unscrews to reveal a miniature spatula, height 5cm, approx. weight 0.9oz.
