Silver & Objects of Vertu - Day 2 - 26th October 2022 - 26 Oct 2022
A George III Irish silver Fiddle pattern fish slice
A George III Irish silver Fiddle pattern fish slice,
maker's mark P.G, and stamped P. Goderey, Dublin 1818,
rounded rectangular blade, pierced and engraved with a crest and motto within a strap cartouche, the terminal with initials, length 31.4cm, approx. weight 5.8oz.
The crest is that of Pollen and Boileau-Pollen.
The maker's mark of P.G is similar to that of Phineas Garde of Cork. However, as it is stamped P. Goderey it is likely that the maker's mark P.G is for him.
