A set of eighteen Victorian silver dinner plates,

shaped circular form, gadroon borders, engraved with engraved with two coat-of-arms accolé, below a earl's coronet, diameter 24.7cm, approx. weight 305.5oz. (18)

The arms are those of Murray quartering Barclay of Balvaird within the motto of the Order of the Thistle, and the same accolé with Ellison quartering another, for William, 4th Earl of Mansfield K.T. (1806-1898) and his wife Louisa (d.1837), daughter of Cuthbert Ellison, whom he married in 1829.

Provenance: William, 4th Earl of Mansfield K.T. (1806-1898), then by descent to the current owner
