modelled as the regiment badge, on rectangular bases, length 5.4cm, approx. weight 1.7oz. (2)

The Ceylon Planters Rifle Corps was raised in 1901. The Corps served in World War I attached to ANZAC. They also served in World War II. Disbanded on 11 April 1949 on Ceylon independence.

In 1906 the Ceylon Mounted Infantry was redesignated the Ceylon Mounted Rifles. The Regiment was mobilized during the 1st World War, but with the demise of cavalry warfare, was disbanded in 1938.
