A late-Victorian Regimental electroplated menu card holder, The 29th Regiment (7th Burma Battalion) Madras Native Infantry,

circa 1893,

modelled as the regimental badge on a circular base, on four ball feet, diameter of base 10.2cm.

Provenance: Major Walter Prentis.

In 1893, the 29th Madras Infantry became the 29th Regiment (7th Burma Battalion) Madras Native Infantry. In 1903 it became the 89th Punjab Regiment and in 1947, was allocated to Pakistan on partition.
