A pair of George IV Regimental silver Fiddle, Thread and Shell pattern marrow scoops, the 59th (2nd Nottinghamshire) Regiment of Foot,

the reverse of the bowl engraved '59', length 21.4cm, approx. weight 3.2oz. (2)

The Regiment returned to England form India in 1829. It took part in various campaigns including the Afghan War 1878-80. In 1881 the Regiment was redesignated 2nd Bn. The East Lancashire Regiment. In 2006 it became the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment.
