A George III Regimental silver King's pattern table fork, the 4th (Royal Irish) Dragoon Guards,

by S and J Blake, London possibly 1817,

engraved by the tines with the regimental crest, approx. weight 2.9oz.

Transferred from the Irish establishment to the British establishment in 1788. Deployed to the Peninsular in 1811. Took part in the Charge of The Heavy Brigade at Balaclava in 1854. In 1922 it amalgamated with the 7th Dragoon Guards to form the 4th/7th Dragoon Guards.
