A Parker Beacon (Dunhill) electroplated watch lighter,
inscribed 'Beacon/Parker', base stamped 'Licensed English Patent 143752/Made in Switzerland/Lights in a Flash',
rectangular form, engine-turned decoration, the square dial, with 'Swiss made' in black, with a ring attachment, height 5.2cm.
The Parker Pipe Company was set up by Dunhill and used as a subsidiary brand. The Parker Beacon Company was established in 1928, as with this example the majority were produced under the 143752 Unique Patent, however. Its products were never sold through the Duke Street shop, but promoted directly in Paris and America, being manufactured by 'La Nationale'.
