A George III silver epergne,
by Thomas Pitts, London 1784,
oval form, with a central two-handled part fluted and pierced basket, beaded borders,
with four scroll arms each holding a detachable pierced basket, the oval stand with four hanging pierced oval baskets, on four lion mask capped legs terminating in paw feet, engraved with a crest, height 48cm, length 62cm, approx. weight 97oz.
The arms are those of Goddard impaled by another.
