An early 18th century German silvergilt mounted snuff box, with a waisted body and domed cover of painted enamels on copper, the whole encrusted with gold foil festoons of flowers, scrolls and various mythical and classical figures in their typical poses, the hinged cover set inside with a miniature painting (behind glass) depicting a lady and gentleman drinking wine and eating fruit at a table in a wood, with two dogs attendant, by Pierre Fromery, Berlin c.1730, 2.25in (5.7cm) wide.
