A Victorian oblong snuff box, with engine turned base and sides and a cast border of thistles, roses and shamrocks, framing the inscription "Presented to Thomas Wood Esquire, Lieth, by two friends in the wine and spirit trade as a token of respect, Edin. 7th July 1853", gilt interior, by Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham 1840, 3.2in (8cm) wide, 4.5oz.
