A rare pair of Charles I silver dessert stands,
by Thomas Maundy, London 1639 and 1640,
circular tapering lobed form with alternate spiral punch bead and foliate decoration, central embossed laurel wreath, prick dot engraved 'S over I.E', on a raised circular bases, with scratch initials 'P' over 'RM', height 6cm, diameters 21cm and 21.4cm, approx. weight 18oz.
