A pair of Victorian silver vegetable tureens and covers on electroplated warming stands,
by John Samuel Hunt, London 1860, the stands by Creswick, the underside stamped 'Hunt and Roskell, Late Storr & Mortimer',
circular form, gadroon borders, the domed covers with reeded detachable handles, engraved with three crests, the warming stands of circular form, ribbon and reed handles, on four scroll feet, diameter 26cm, length of bases handle to handle 31.5cm, approx. weight 100oz. (2)

The crest is that of Rose within the insignia a Knight of the Bath for Major General (later Field Marshall) Sir Hugh Henry Rose, CGB (1801-1885). He was created Baron Strathnairn of Strathnairn and Jansi in 1866.
