A pair of George III silver sauce boats, by John Emes, London 1804, oval form, gadroon border, leaf capped flying scroll handle, on three foliate capped lion paw feet, engraved with an armorial, length 19.7cm, height 14.7cm, approx. weight 30oz. (2) The crest is that of Lindsay (kin of Scottish Earles of Balcarres), also later engraved with the shield of Empson of Yorkshire.
