A Georgian oval silver-gilt Friendly Society badge, 1777, Classical figures of Justice and Minerva at altar with crossed Union flags, holding aloft a wreath with clasped hands, below ASSOCIATION, rev engraved coat of arms of three cocks, with cock above, over crossed palm fronds, integral suspension loop, 61.5 x 42.5mm. Good very fine. The cock emblem used by branches of the Cock and Cockburn families
