A late 18th century French gold mounted portrait snuff box, unmarked, circular form, with alternate panels of engraved gold and abalone shell decoration, the pull off cover set with an oval portrait of a lady, the portrait is hinged and opens to reveal two further portraits of ladies, the base with ray decoration and with a central rosette, tortoiseshell lined, diameter 7.4cm.
