A pair of 19th century French silver canisters / toilet jars and covers,

Paris, post 1838 mark,

tapering circular form, with applied swags and ribbon tied garlands of flowers, chased decoration, applied with armorials, with silver-gilt liners, pull-off covers with a finial of a crown on a cushion, the inside of the covers inscribed 'DONNE A MA CHERE FILLE MARIE' and also with the initials 'B.C.P' and earlier date '1826', on four leaf and mask capped scroll feet, height 13.8cm, approx. weight 32oz.
