A 19th century Colonial silver snuff box,

the base and cover marked DS twice, and S&S, (overstriking another), the lip of the cover also marked, possibly Cape,

rectangular form, the hinged cover engraved 'From Jonathan Hall to William Hall', with the crest of a bugle and the motto 'firmoir quo paratior', length 7.2cm, approx. weight 3.3oz.
