A pair of Edwardian silver vases,

maker's mark worn, London 1905,

tapering circular and baluster form, bud shaped capitals, on raised weighted circular bases, engraved with a crowned 'D', height 26cm. (2)

The cipher is that of Sir William Henry Grenfell, who was created Baron Desborough of Taplow, Bucks on 30 December 1905. He was High Sheriff of Bucks in 1890, MP for Salisbury 1880-2 and for 1885-6, for Hereford 1892-3 and for Wycombe 1900-5.
