A William IV silver pencil,

marked Willmore, circa 1835,

with foliate scroll decoration on a matted background, with a purple finial, foliate borders, length 8.9cm.

In 1828 S. Mordan undertook an action against Joseph Willmore of Birmingham for breach of patent of the everpointed pencil. S. Mordan lost the action.
