A George I Scottish silver teapot,
maker's mark of IK, probably for James Ker, assay master Edward Penman, Edinburgh 1723,
bullet form, straight spout and scroll handle, the hinged cover with an acorn finial, on a circular foot, length handle to spout 24.5cm, approx. weight 17.8oz.
Provenance: purchased at Christie's Silver sale, 29th January 1969, lot 143.
James Ker (1700-1768) son and apprentice of Thomas Ker was free in 1723.
