A rare 19th century French sculpted parcel gilt paperweight

A rare 19th century French sculpted parcel gilt paperweight, on a bevelled coloured agate base, in the form of an Amazon on a rearing horse fighting off a lion, gems set base, signed 'WIESE.PARIS', for Jules Wiese 1870-75, 3.4in (8.5cm) high. *Jules Wiese (1818-1893) a chaser and jeweller and a pupil of Hossauer, a Berlin goldsmith, before working in Paris for Morel and then as head of Froment-Meurices workshop, after this he set up in business on his own account.
