A late 18th century gold mounted tortoiseshell snuff box, navette shaped with pricked borders, the cover inset with the miniature portrait of a young boy on ivory (behind glass), the interior with a brass plaque, inscribed 'W M Baldwin, Upton Bishop, near Ross, Herefordshire', unmarked c.1790, 4.9in (12.5cm) long.
