Royal Association: A pair of substantial Edwardian photograph frames, oblong with shaped pediments, supported each side by a column with floral garlands and lower frieze of thistles, roses and shamrock, each surmounted by an oval cartouche with the Royal crown finial (one detached), one chased with the monogram 'VM' for Victoria Mary, the other decorated with the Prince of Wales's feathers and 'HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE', heavy metal backs and easel stands, one frame containing a black and white signed print of the Prince of Wales, future King George V, the other with Princess of Wales, his future Queen, Mary, each print signed 'India 1905-6', by Elkington & Co., Birmingham 1905, 18in (45.8cm) high. (2) *NB an identical pair of these frames sold at Phillips Cardiff in 1987 for ?5,400 hammer price.
