A rare William IV Scottish mounted hardwood constable's tipstaff, inscribed "BURGH OF LEITH 1833", "PERSEVERE" and "23 HIGH CONSTABLE", engraved at one end with the Royal Crown and a thistle and at the other end with the Burgh arms, suspensory ring, unmarked, c. 1833, 2.8in (7.2cm) long.
