A late 16th century German spoon, with a curved, hollow stalk, engraved stem, the shield terminal with initials and coat of arms, maker's mark HL [conjoined] Augsberg 1585-90, 5.3in (13.5cm) long, 0.75oz. *This spoon as part of a hoard was buried by the Van der Tan family during the thirty years war at No. 42 Breitenstrasse, Bad-Herrsted, Germany and 'recovered' on 5th February 1957.
