Exeter: A Charles II spoon, with a gilt figure of St Matthew with a sacred dove nimbus, the back of the bowl pricked NR over WV over 1671 struck in the bowl with a town mark, and thrice on the back of the sterm with a small pelleted quatrefoil, perhaps by William Bayley C-1671 8in (20.4cm) See Kent West Country spoons their maker's pp70 & 169 (A16) for the town mark.
