A pair of Sudanese small silver dishes or ashtrays, the centre of each inset with a copper 20-Piastres of Abdullah Ibn Mahammed, the Kahalifa (1846-1885-1898); Ottoman coin jewellery, Egypt, silver 5-Qirsh, 1327, yr. 2, the scarcer date, copper 40-Para, 1277, yr 10; Turkey, 20-Piastres, 1277, yr 1, all brooch mounted for jewellery; a small Ottoman coin box; and plated Victorian coin ashtray. (7) Abdullah Ibn Mahammed was the principal commander at the siege of Khartoum (February 1884 - January 26, 1885), where General Gordon met his death. He succeeded as leader on the death of the Mahdi.
