A Victorian naturalistic grater

A Victorian naturalistic grater, in the form of a nutmeg with its mace outer, the interior with a hinged, mounted steel grater and the interior of the cover with a compartment accessed via a hinged cover. By Hilliard and Thomason, Birmingham, 1868. 1.5 in (4 cm)

It is possible that the grater has been repaired and that the hinged compartment within the cover is an addition, all be it cleverly done.
