An early-19th century silver snuff box,
marked five times RH in an oval punch, possibly Scottish provincial, circa 1820,
circular form, the hinged cover with chased foliate decoration and set with a central citrine, the underside of the base with foliate scroll decoration, and with a crest and motto, diameter 5.8cm, approx. weight 1.5oz.
Provenance: A Private Collection.
The crest and motto are that of Thynne.
