Treasures: Creation, Emulation & Imitation
25th June 2025Woolley and Wallis are, once again, very proud sponsors of this year’s Haughton International Seminar; a fascinating two day programme of lectures delivered by fifteen world class museum curators and academics at The British Academy in Carlton House Terrace on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th June 2025.
The seminar looks at a wide range of media from the Middle Ages to the 19th century including art treasures, the 18th century 'Porcelain Fever' of Augustus the Strong, the 19th century Arts & Crafts movement, royal sculptural collections, gold boxes and more, and will explore to what extent the works were creations, emulations or imitations.
