Militaria specialist supports Salisbury veteran's charity auction

When it comes to charitable fundraising, Salisbury army veteran, Carl Orme, doesn’t do things by halves. Not content with attempting to run a string of marathons across 2020, he has set a fundraising target of £20,000 for the charity, Breast Cancer Now, after nearly losing his mother twice to an aggressive form of the disease.
“Breast cancer is unfortunately still taking far too many lives and I wanted to try and make a difference to join the Breast Cancer Now aspiration of eradicating lives lost and increasing early diagnosis,” explained Orme.
As part of the mammoth fundraising venture, he has organised an event on 28th February attended by former Olympic swimmer, Sharron Davies MBE, who will be taking part in a question and answer session. The Salisbury Military Wives Choir will also be performing as part of the event at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium in Old Sarum.
The event will end with a charity auction, held by Woolley and Wallis auctioneer and militaria specialist, Ned Cowell.
“We’ve got some wonderful lots booked in,” enthused Orme. “On the sporting side of things we have a signed Man U football, tickets for Worcester Warriors and for a Sales Shark Rugby match. There is also the offer of a private tour of the Small Arms Skills Corps Armoury for up to ten people, which is a unique prize, and a private tour of the Etches Museum of fossils.”
Other lots include items of jewellery from Salisbury firms H R Tribbeck and Son, and Allum and Sidaway, signed Everton photos and a personalised signed book from Kelly Holmes.
