New Consultant - David Houlston
27th September 2024Woolley and Wallis have appointed David Houlston as a consultant for period oak and related works of art.
David spent 25 years expanding the Oak department at Phillips (later Bonhams), before a stint working at Bishop & Miller. He will be working alongside head of Furniture, Mark Yuan-Richards, handling private collections and putting together sales of period oak, vernacular art and related items.
“I’m delighted to welcome David to our Furniture team,” said Yuan-Richards. “His knowledge of and passion for his subject are second to none and, with the market seeing a renewed interest in country oak furniture, I look forward to putting together exciting sales in 2025.”
The Furniture and Works of Art department currently hold four regular auctions per annum, alongside standalone contents sales which have recently included the contents of The Grange at Wendover, the Parker & Morris Collection, and contents from the Rothschild family at Exbury House.
