Pearl necklace sells for £122,000

Woolley and Wallis have again proven the continuing success of natural pearls at auction.

Following the world record price of 1.6 million (inclusive of buyer's premium) for pearl earrings in April 2012, Novembers jewellery sale had two very successful pearl lots, the first being a natural pearl and diamond brooch which sold for £58,500 (inclusive) and the second being a single row pearl necklace with a principle pearl of 9.2mm consigned privately that sold for £122,000 (inclusive) after considerable interest from London, New York, Geneva and India.
