Reverse Advent Appeal a Success

20th December 2022

Over 46kg of food has been donated to Salisbury Food Bank after staff at Woolley and Wallis took part in its annual Reverse Advent Calendar initiative.

Throughout November staff contributed to boxes, providing regular larder staples as well as festive treats for the food bank to distribute ahead of Christmas. Donations were up 15% on last year’s collection, with people recognising the difficulties caused by the rising costs of living.

The Food Bank issued an appeal in November after revealing that the distribution of food parcels across Salisbury and South West Wiltshire had risen by a third in the period between April and September.

“I’m really pleased that we’ve been able to up our contribution to the food bank this year – our fourth supporting this vital local cause,” said Managing Director, Natalie Milsted. “Putting the boxes in our two office buildings just makes it a bit easier for our busy staff to club together and help those in need across Salisbury.”
