Valuation Evening in The Rifles Museum

11th August 2019

Specialists at Woolley and Wallis fine art auctioneers are teaming up with The Rifles (Berkshire and Wiltshire) Museum in Salisbury for a special valuation event in the Cathedral Close.

The evening of Wednesday 18th September will see The Rifles Buglers opening events on Choristers’ Green at ten past five with a Bugle Call Medley. Everyone is then invited into the museum itself from 5.30pm, where they can view some of the 34,000 plus artefacts that the museum holds and receive a valuation on any items that they have brought with them.

Valuers from one of the UK’s leading auction houses will be on hand to look at medals and militaria, alongside silver, jewellery, ceramics, Asian Art, paintings and modern design items. Entry to the museum will be free, but a donation towards the museum’s funds will be requested – suggestion £5 for the first item to be valued and £2 thereafter.

The event at the museum (housed in The Wardrobe) will cement links between the two organisations, which were established late last year with the appointment of Woolley and Wallis’s Head of Militaria, Ned Cowell, as a trustee for the charity.
