Description
A massive John Dwight brown stoneware jug or bottle c.1680, the upper section of the tall ovoid body decorated in a warm brown glaze, the wide strap handle with a slight groove, some damages, 49cm.
John Dwight was the first potter to successfully produce salt-glazed stoneware for commercial production in England.
