DIAMOND SUTRA IN RUNNING SCRIPT

A Chinese handscroll of calligraphy, ink on paper, title-slip by Zong Hai and dated the tenth month of gui chou year with one illegible seal. Four collectors' seals of Jin Shao Tang family (a wealthy family during the Republic period), 117cm x 26cm.

Provenance: brought back from China by Sir Thomas Octavius Callender who was the Managing Director of British Insulated Callender's Cables. The company had a large contract in Shanghai in the early 1900s.
