Description
A 54 bore Bentley patent self-cocking five-shot percussion revolver, serial number A422, octagonal barrel 7 in. with radiused and engraved muzzle, top flat inscribed for the retailer 'HARKOM. EDINBURGH.', under-lug with Joseph Bentley's patent screw-rammer, open-topped frame engraved with acanthus scrolls and inscribed 'Bentley's Patent No A422', engraved hammer with Joseph Bentley's hammer nose safety catch, acanthus engraved grip frame with butt trap, chequered wooden grips, London proof; in a fitted and brass-bound oak case with associated accessories comprising: double cavity bullet mould, cap tin, oil bottle, turnscrew, nipple key, powder flask, loading rod with worm (screw-off head absent). Section 58(2) - no licence required if possessed as a curiosity or ornament.
