Max Fisher
20th Century Design Specialist
Max graduated in 2010 from Kingston University, beginning his career at Mallams as a Fine Art Valuer. He went on to spend 15 years at the firm, working in their Oxford and Cheltenham salerooms and rising to become Head of Design in 2018. Max has interests in all areas of 20th Century design, with a particular interest in studio ceramics, having set numerous auction records for modern potters including Jennifer Lee (b.1956) and Michael Cardew (1901-1983). He also specialises in Cotswold School works and Arts & Crafts and set an auction record for Ernest Gimson (1864-1919) with the sale of a rare pair of steel firedogs in 2019. He joined Woolley and Wallis in 2025.
