A pair of Derby two-handled vases, each painted with a landscape scene of Classical ruins, on a cobalt blue ground elaborately gilded with a bold design of mythical birds and creatures amidst stylized foliate scrolls, each titled in red 'Near Naples' and 'Near Glasgow', crowned crossed baton marks, c.1810-20, one chipped to the base, 23cm. (2) Provenance: From the estate of Niel Rimington (1928-2009) of Fonthill Old Abbey Estate, Wiltshire.
