English walnut with cedar lined drawers, the fall front enclosing writing space and various drawers, flanked by sections of four drawers

117cm high, 138cm wide, 42cm deep.

Provenance:

Commissioned from Edward Barnsley to furnish Springfold, Haslemere, Surrey. Springfold was constructed in 1937 and designed by W.S Grice Esq. The majority of the furnishings in the house were designed by Edward Barnsley.

The writing desk was designed two years prior, in 1935, with the original pencil sketch design by Edward Barnsley being held in the Barnsley Archives.
