A rare Sunflower Pottery commemorative Tyg by Sir Edmund Elton, slip decorated with tulip flower panels, one inscribed 'Eureka' in coral red and ochre on a streaked blue, ochre and green ground painted Elton to base, professionally restored 19.5cm. high Literature John A Bartlett British Ceramic Art 1870-1940 Schiffer Publishing, page 100 this tyg illustrated. Sir Edmund Elton had investments in the South African gold mines and produced this tyg to celebrate striking gold.
