African & Oceanic Art
The principal UK saleroom to hold dedicated African & Oceanic Art sales.
In bringing African & Oceanic Art back into the UK auction calendar Woolley and Wallis have strengthened their position on the International Art Market. Since 2014 we have been holding bi-annual sales incorporating single owner collections and individual pieces from the fascinating world that encompasses this area: Africa, America, Oceania and the Arctic.
In 2016 we secured for private treaty sale a magnificent Benin bronze memorial head, dating to the 15th – early 16th century and achieving a world record price for a piece of African & Oceanic Art, in association with Entwistle.
Our department is based at Unit 1B, Castlegate Business Park, Old Sarum, Salisbury, SP4 6QX, which is ten minutes drive from the Castle Street salerooms. Payments are still taken at the Castle Street salerooms. The sales are held at Castle Street.
