A KOREAN LACQUERED WOOD CHEST, BANDAJI
CHOSON DYNASTY
The top half with seven drawers surrounding a small storage area with two hinged doors, the lower half with a drop-front door opening on a larger storage area, decorated with mother of pearl, tortoiseshell, shagreen and inlaid brass wires with four confronting phoenix, stylised clouds, flowerheads and trigrams, the corners and hinges with ornate brass mounts, all raised on a stand with similar decoration, 114cm x 91cm x 35.5cm.
