A CHINESE UNDERGLAZE COPPER-RED ‘THREE FISH’ STEM BOWL
SIX CHARACTER YONGZHENG MARK AND OF THE PERIOD 1723-35
The wide bell-shaped bowl with a gently everted rim, raised on a tall flared cylindrical foot, the bowl decorated to the exterior with three fish, detailed with serrated dorsal fins and club-shaped tails, the mark written to the inside of the stem in a horizontal line, 15.5cm wide 11.8cm high.
Provenance: from a private collection, London; by repute, formerly in the collection of William Green, 1894-1972, former Principal of the Exeter College of Art.
