TWO CHINESE IMARI PLATES FROM THE COLLECTION OF AUGUSTUS THE STRONG

KANGXI 1662-1722

Both decorated in underglaze blue, red and gilt with a central roundel containing large flower sprays, the rim with a dense band of scrolling leaves, each plate inscribed to the base with Johanneum marks 'N:96.+', together with two Japanese Imari ewers painted with chrysanthemum issuing from rockwork, each spout and handle forming a dragon, 21.2cm max. (4)
